Bupa Care Services in Australia started with one facility in Toowoomba in 1999. We now have 47 residential aged care facilities throughout Australia and 4,100 employees.

In 2007 we were acquired by Bupa, a business that began in the United Kingdom in 1947. This is exciting as we are now part of a leading global health and care company whose main interests are private health insurance and aged care. The company was founded to help people live longer, happier and healthier lives.

The Bupa Group has aged care businesses in the UK, Spain, New Zealand and Australia. This means Bupa Care Services is the first Australian aged care organisation with direct access to international best practice, with its network of 32,000 employees and more than 400 care homes in Australia, New Zealand, Spain and the UK.

As part of Bupa Group there are opportunities for international employment and even reciprocal exchange programs. You’ll also be part of a cross-cultural exchange of clinical and contemporary thinking and practice.

International Challenge

Each year a team of 120 Bupa employees from around the world volunteer to transform the lives in a poverty-stricken area of the world – in 2009 it will be in Ecuador.

Each employee who has been chosen to participate spends one week over a 12 week period doing everything from painting, building and decorating to teaching English to children. The International Challenge is a hugely rewarding experience.
